Description
Family Law is for students in degree courses and those taking professional examinations. It is also of value to practitioners of Nigerian Family Law. It is concerned with rights and obligations governing the relationship of husband and wife and of parent and child under the dual Family Law.
Discussion of legal rules is preceded by their historical analysis. It also discusses the dual court system in the administration of the dualistic Family Law. Consideration is given to the reasons for changes in the law and the reform of the adjudicating courts. Consequently, there is substantial reference to up-to-date case law and legislations on Family Law and the specific courts administering them. The book indicates wherever necessary, the line of reforms which may be taken in future. Special features of this book include commentary on the reality of some aspects of the Nigerian dualistic Family Law and attention to areas of professional and academic debate.
