Akinwumi Ogundiran is Chancellor’s Professor and Professor of Africana Studies, Anthropology & History at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of African Archaeological Review. Ogundiran has conducted many years of research on the archaeology and history of the Yoruba and Atlantic Africa. He is author and co-editor of several publications including Materialities of Rituals in the Black Atlantic, Indiana University Press (2014), named a Choice magazine’s 2015 outstanding book.
