Description
“Here is to crime; here is to crime for Ikoro’s sake!”
Kalu Okpi was not Nigeria’s first thriller-fiction writer, but he brought a swag and vividness to that genre that very few Nigerian, and indeed other African, writers have matched. His novel The Smugglers was the second, in the justifiably famous Macmillan Pacesetters series of novels, to dominate the popular African literary space from the 1970s to the late 1990s and early 2000s.
