Alani Akinrinade: My Dialogue with Nigeria pulls together the innermost thoughts and views of Lieutenant General Ipoola Alani Akinrinade, former Chief of Defence Staff
and pro-democracy activist, on true federalism in Nigeria and how to achieve unity that is equitable and beneficial to all Nigerians. In these interviews and speeches spanning more than 25 years, General Akinrinade has consistently pushed for a fiscal and political restructuring of Nigeria as a catalyst for lasting unity in the most populous black African Nation.

Soji Akinrinade holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in journalism from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, Natchitoches, LA and University of Georgia,Athens, GA, in the USA. A former deputy editor of The Punch, Akinrinade was, for many years, deputy editor-in-chief of Newswatch magazine until 2010 when he was named editor-in-chief. He is co-author of Moving in Circles published in 2012 by MayFive Media Limited and contributed to OJUKWU, Newswatch Best and Jogging in the Jungle: The Newswatch Story. He is a Nuffield Press Fellow, University of Cambridge, England.
