Description
When We Were Young is an autobiography with a difference. It accounts for a period too easily lost to succeeding generations. It depicts life in Nigeria from about 1918 to 1950 through the story of one man whose different episodes in life can be replicated in those of his contemporaries. This is an authentic history of the colonial days and the various contributions of many well-known Nigerians to the struggle which led to Independence. The author, Professor Saburi Biobaku, Balogun of Iddo, Abeokuta, served on many national and international councils. He was a Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, and an Honorary Fellow of the West African Association of Surgeons
